Gah I'm a sucka for Diplo. I want a Blackberry Torch! Wah. Seriously though it seems Blackberry's finally hittin' up the music industry to help them advertise their product and reach za masses!! Tick tock...
From mid-October Cali-psychedelic experimentalists ARIEL PINK will be embarking on their European tour. They'll be in BERLIN on 19 Oct and LONDON on 1 Nov! Supporting them will be LA band Geneva Jacuzzi. They're from the same musical vein and are quite impressive!
Check out "Clothes on the Bed". Video by Eric Fensler.
The Morning Benders are from SF, USA. Initially started as a solo project by singer song-writer Chris Chu The Morning Benders is now a quartet. 2010 saw them release second album 'Big Echo' co-produced by Grizzly Bear's Christopher Taylor and Chu.
The above video shows Chu recording song 'Excuses' using Phil Spector's technique the 'Wall of Sound'; a process whereby a mass number of musicians (playing the same instruments) play at the same time thus creating a 'Wall of Sound'.
It creates something pretty special. Take a listen.
The Morning Benders are on tour now and they'll be playing at London's Borderline on 30 Sep!
"She speaks of herself in the third person and talks in oxymorons 'like-minded individuals'".
Whole article over at the Quietus.
That cherub face and moon eyes eradicate any initial thoughts of pompous self-righteousness but apparently looks can be deceitful!
Either way this Kansas-born artist has worked with P.Diddy, Big Boi and Erykah Badu and is on a quest toward a pseudo world domination. She'll be the Noir-Gaga. Her debut LPThe ArchAndroid is out now.
Flight Facilities is disco synth wrapped in angelic vocals and soft guitar strummings. They're from Australia and they'll be playing at the opening night of new Fabric owned club The Nest. It's in the old Barden Boudoir location and has been completely refurbished to accommodate 300 people!
Electro house maestro The Juan MacLean will headline the night.

Wow. Here we have all the heavy-weights wrapped into one. The NEW YORKER gets -famous-for-being-good-at-being-awkward SCH-WING SCHWARTZMAN to talk about their new IPAD application in an advert directed by none other than the highly-lauded director (and Schwartzman's cousin) ROMAN COPPOLA.
Going out in London reeks of pretension (hello Alibi) and mephedrone. It effing sucks balls. So Horrah for XOYO on 2 Oct!
Taking place at the newly opened East End venue, bands include WE HAVE A BAND & HUMAN LIFE. They'll be in charge of warm ups and stretching before sonic mavericks SURKIN & DJ FEADZtake to the decks.
It's close to home (if you are smart enough to live in the East) and finishes at a rather worthy time.

Chicago four-piece Maps & Atlases have been making music since 2004. And with a steady pace the boys have finally reached their mountain. Their impending tour will see them tackle its height with little to no effort..or so it will seem.
Their tribal chants will remind you of Local Natives while their heavy folk lorn sound will call upon Bon Iver and co. Their European tour starts on 8 October and their debut "Perch Patchwork" is out now!
LA band KISSES is beautifully sad music that makes you sway your hips and nod your head. Made up of Jesse Kivel (also in Princeton) and his girlfriend Zinzi Edmundson. KISSES really is the ultimate love story. Boy+Girl in band that sing about love and wanderlust.
Kivel's vocals will remind you of Jens Lekman but the corny charm of the keyboards, plaintive minor chords and drum machine clatter will conjure up images of Belle and Sebastian.
They'll be in London this October!!
Debut "The Heart Of The Nightlife" out next month!

I am more than prone to monologues; however, this is solely due to the manner in which they compliment a witty anecdote and their ability to resemble concrete evidence when it is so obviously lacking.
I often wish I could emulate that aloof character who coolly stands in the corner smiling mysteriously as if she has a secret. However, I fear resisting the temptation to involve myself in other people’s conflicts and responding through body language rather than verbose banter may come across as contrived and arrogant. And, I am not willing to take that chance.
