Bestival 2010

Just got back from Bestival, a music festival that played host to 46,000 enthusiastic ticket wielding punters. Gawd what an amazing four days.

The WINNERS of this year are as follows:

WILD BEASTS
GAS LAMP KILLER

DARWIN DEEZ - Kids' got moves!

LCD SOUNDSYSTEM - A 1.5hour intense set of sonic damage and high level instrumental.
CARIBOU - Our London resident is always a winner.
FEVER RAY - Smoke and mirrors, baby.
SUMMER CAMP
KING CHARLES - Wooooooooooow. Think Band of Horses but NOT.

The REGRET?
MUMFORD AND SONS - OH wah. Lighten up.
The PRODIGY - No energy - May have had something to do with the low speaker system. 10 mins of my life wasted.

The LOSERS?
TORO Y MOI - For not showing up. Poor form, Chaz & Co.

Wish I'd seen (ie. avoided becoming so inebriated that I could barely stand let alone focus on the teeny tiny letters of the festival schedule.

I am more than prone to monologues; however, this is solely due to the manner in which they compliment a witty anecdote and their ability to resemble concrete evidence when it is so obviously lacking. I often wish I could emulate that aloof character who coolly stands in the corner smiling mysteriously as if she has a secret. However, I fear resisting the temptation to involve myself in other people’s conflicts and responding through body language rather than verbose banter may come across as contrived and arrogant. And, I am not willing to take that chance.
